Schools out for summer :)

One of the coolest things about being a teacher is I get to have a summer break.  Now for all the haters out there that say that's not fair or your so lucky I am pretty sure that what ever college you went to you could have majored in education and if you have ever spent as much time as teachers do with elementary, middle, or high schoolers you would totally understand why we need our summer breaks to keep our sanity.  I absolutely love teaching, but I am usually just as excited as the students are for summer break and this year I was even more excited because I get to spend it with bug :) Lanie is also taking a little break from daycare to spend time with Mommy.  We will still be participating in all the summer field trips its fun for us to get out and I like to get to know the other moms that send their kids to We Care Day Care we just love Miss Julie and Miss Andrea! So to start the summer off with a bang Mark, Lanie, and I had a jam packed weekend, but then Mark and I both came down a nasty summer cold.  We were still pretty busy, but had to cut a few things out to try and get better.

Grandma Amy and her best friend Kelly

Lanie's first Special Olympics event. She wants to be a coach just like Mommy!

She loves watching T.V.

Memorial Day-Lanie and her friend Rory

Daddy and Lanie love to read before bedtime :)
We started Saturday with Noahs 1st birthday it was fantastic and a super fun time.  Lanie was exhausted and so were we so we all took a nap.  Then Sunday morning we headed off to church, a church meeting, and then to Will's 2nd birthday!!!! Will is one of my best friends son and it has been so much fun watching him grow into a little man.  Not only do we all love Will so much, but he is also Lanie's future husband so we think he is pretty awesome.  Will's mom (Mallory) is also having Lanie's best friend Lucy in just a couple weeks we can't wait to meet her!!!!  So after all the parties we came back to our house and Mal, Jeff, and Will came over for Pizza and games.  Lanie and Will didn't last to long, but we had fun with them while they were still up.  Then Katie and Chad stopped by for some fun too and did I mention that she will be having another one of Lanie's friends in August Lanie, Lucy, and Landon now say that three times fast. Then Monday we had a cookout at Uncle Zach and Aunt Melissa's house with lots of people, food, and a super long bags game.  To top off the weekend Lanie got a wonderful visit from Grandma and Grandpa Wade.  Lanie was so excited to hang out with them and show them all the new things she is learning.  So the weekend was pretty crazy, but a great way to kick off the summer!

Rolling!

CRAZY, CRAZY, and more CRAZY has been our lives lately.  Our weeks are jam packed and our weekends even more busy.  I have three more days of school until summer break starts and I can't even put into words how excited I am for this time off.  I am going to be spending so much time with little bug and I am sure Mark is excited to get his lunch dates back with Lanie too! In the middle of all this madness Lanie has decided she is going to start rolling over. I am glad we got this on video last week because she has all of the sudden decided she doesn't think its fun to roll over anymore. So we know she can do it we just don't know when she will do it again :)

1st Mother's Day!!!

Lanie writing me a message..she is so smart
I celebrated my very first Mother's Day and it was very special. Daddy and Lanie went shopping and got Mommy a gift, but I couldn't open it until Mother's Day.  My first gift was SLEEP :) I know I am a lucky Mommy that has a baby girl that sleeps through the night, but 5:30 still comes early and she doesn't go right back to sleep anymore.  So Mark did the morning bottle and I got to sleep in. Then came my yummy breakfast cooked by my amazing husband, biscuits & gravy and coffee yummmmy! Then I got my card that Lanie wrote it was so sweet and thoughtful along with the card was a beautiful picture frame that I am going to fill and bring to work with me so I can look at my sweet baby girl when ever my students start to get on my nerves! After filling our tummies we were off to church and I was working in the nursery so I got to spend that time with my Lanie Bug. Then to finish off the festivities we went over to my Mom's and celebrated with lunch and planting her flowers.

I am so lucky to have so many amazing women in my life to look up to as role models.  My sister in-laws on both sides have raised my nieces and nephews with such love and they are some of the coolest kids I know.  My mother in-law had the joy of bringing up my husband and I am sure that was not a easy task! I think women who have sons have such a big role in teaching them how to be good husbands and my husband is a winner! Several of my close friends are mothers and I am constantly asking their advice because I am amazed at the love, patience, and energy they exert in a day. My Mom is a role model to me in so many ways. She has taught me to be kind, compassionate, speak my mind, follow my dreams, the list could go on and on.  My Mom and I have always had a unique bond and we figured out the balance between mother/daughter and friendship with out to many bumps in the road :) I can only hope one day that I am to Lanie what all these women mean to me! I hope all the moms and moms to be out there were loved, spoiled, and celebrated yesterday because you all deserve it!!!!!!!

2nd post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a promise and I kept it two post in one week whoooo!  To back track a little Easter was a little rainy, but the time that we got to spend celebrating Jesus with family and friends was wonderful.  I forgot my camera when we went up to the Wades so I only have a few pics.  While we were visiting Mark's family Lanie got to meet her GreatGrandad Bob.  Mark took a picture with his phone so one of these days I will get that picture up on her blog.  She loved Grandad Bob and hearing all the stories he was telling Mommy and Daddy about when he served in the Navy.

Lanie's Jeggins!

This week Lanie has turned into a wiggle worm while she is sleeping.  Mark and I lay Lanie down like any normal person would with her head at the top of the bed, but when go to wake up our little bug in the morning there she is sideways in her crib chilling.  I had to take a picture this morning because she was looking at Mommy like what doesn't everybody sleep sideways in their beds.

After work today I had to rush to Chandra's to get Lanie and then rush home to meet the MerryMaids person who was doing the walk through so we could get our house cleaned tomorrow.  I have NEVER had my house cleaned, but with all of the stuff we have going on and putting the house on the market I don't have the time to do the deep clean that it needs so people can ohh and ahhhh and say I have to have this house! So while the very  nice lady was saying how easy it will be to clean the house because it is free of clutter (this was such a compliment because I hate clutter) Lanie decided to start letting some really juicy farts. These juicy farts turned into a blowout. We all had a good laugh and Lanie was a happy camper.  Since I had to change her clothes anyways I dressed her up and we did a little photo session.

Lanie wanted to be a part of the cousin picture!

I leave you with the best smile in the world :)

Rain Rain GO AWAY!!!!!

So I know there are just a few Lanie followers out there, but you might have noticed I didn't get a post up last week.  So to make everyone happy I promise to get two up this week.  It has been a crazy week for the Wades.  The massive amount of rain that has fallen upon us has luckily not affected our home, but it has affected where Lanie goes to daycare.  I love her daycare so much so I was sad to get the call last Wednesday night to say the flood waters had reached the house.  We are lucky though to have my sister in-law Chandra who is available to watch Lanie.  She has been hanging out with Aunt Chandra and cousins Luca, Isabel, & Anna.  I am pretty sure if Lanie could talk she would tell me all the fun things Isabel and her do all day.  When I pick Lanie up in the afternoon Isabel is so excited to tell me about all the fun stuff Lanie did it is so cute!

Lanie spent most of the day Saturday with Daddy & Grandpa Danny because I was in Tell City at a Special Olympics track meet.  When I got home I was exhausted and only had about two hours before a cook out with our small group and an event for One Life-Henderson.  Lanie has been fighting a nasty cold so we took a little nap before all the festivities started.  On our drive over to Henderson we drove by the Ohio River and I was shocked to see how high it is getting.  Every time I hear the weather reporter calling for more rain I just cringe!

Last night after listening to Lanie sneeze, cough, and sound so sad for a week Mark and I decided it would be best to call the doctor.  So this morning before work Lanie and I were off to the doctor. It turns out she has a nasty cold and an ear infection.  I was so sad for her, but of course even though our girl is feeling yucky she still had to give the doctor and mommy tons of smiles J

Later this week I will post some pictures from Easter. I didn’t get as many taken because I forgot my camera when we went to the Wades and at my families it was so rainy there just wasn’t a lot of good picture opportunities. We did however have a great time celebrating Jesus resurrection and Lanie was a perfect angel in church.

I wanted to write this blog not only for friends and family to see Lanie grow up, but I also thought it would be neat for Lanie to look at one day.  So far in Lanie’s short life she has watched with mommy some pretty significant things.  On April 29th Lanie and I watched parts of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton and this morning because of a two hour delay due to flooding Lanie and I watched the coverage on Osama bin Laden. Big stuff for such a little girl!
