- Lanie had her 15 month doctors visit and everything is amazing she even sat still for her blood work and got a "I am Brave" sticker for it
- Lanie has enjoyed LOTS of time with Grandma Amy and Grandpa Danny this week while I have been work on the house.
- Lanie has visited the new house a couple times and loves to run around with all the open space (she is going to love it).
- Lanie is serioulsy loving to dance and jump(almost has the feet off the floor) when ever she hears music.
- Lanie in the past two weeks has quickly moved from baby to toddler and even though it makes me a little sad that the cuddles, rocking, and baby things are quicky fading I am really loving this toddler stage (expect for the tantrums) and all the new adventures to come.

Moving on up!
So my summer break has started and I should be getting better about posting on Lanie's blog more often with lots of adorable pictures of Lanie Beth, but that was just a wonderful dream I had and then I woke up! Mark and I bought a new house and I have been one busy gal painting as much as I can before we move in. So far I have finished Lanie's room, our room/bathroom, upstairs hallway, and living room. My hand feels like it is always holding paint brush even when there is not one in there! Mark is going to work on the basement while I am gone this weekend at state Special Olympics and I hope I get to come home to a nice suprise :) We offically move June 9th and then I have one week to get as much pulled out of boxes as I can so that I can pack our bags for Flordia!!!!!!!!!!!! Our little family of three is so blessed and I can't wait to watch Lanie grow up in this home. So even though I don't have any pictures I will give you the run down of Lanie Bug this week.

Mother's Day
Yesterday was a fantastic day. I got to spend my day exactly how I wanted and I loved every second of it. Our little family started off the day with church and then home for a quick lunch. Mark had to go into work because it has been crazy busy for him so Lanie and Mommy took a much needed nap together and loved every second of it. I know there will come a day when she won't want to take a nap with Mommy, but for now I am going to treasure the small moments and soak in the beauty of a simple Sunday afternoon nap with my baby girl. After lunch/nap Lanie gave Mommy her Mothers Day present, it was a beautiful wind chime so Lanie and I can sit out side on our new front porch at the new house and listen to the pretty music. The Wades are sooooo very excited to get into our new house it should be anytime still just waiting on a couple things with the inspection and then we can set the close date!!!! After nap we headed to Grandma Amy's to spend the rest of the day with cousins, aunts, and uncles :) We could have not asked for better weather, the sky was a gorgeous blue and the temperature was just right. We ate yummy food, played a couple games of kick ball, and enjoyed our time together as a family.
At church I was reminded by one of our worship leaders that this is not only a day to celebrate mothers, but a day to celebrate being a mother. This week I heard radio shows asking moms what they wanted most on mothers day and most of the replied with answers such as time to themselves, someone to fold the laundry, do the dishes, or to be left alone in peace for 30 minutes. I got thinking to myself that every mother is different, but I wanted to spend my mothers day with Lanie and celebrate the fact that this amazing little human has given me the privilege to carry the name Mommy. I am constantly admiring other mothers, asking advice, and trying to figure out how to be the best Mom I can be. I was taught this morning in church that Mary was an amazing example of humble obedience to God and if we continue to rely on him for every adventure in our lives then how could we go wrong! I hope all the mothers out there had a day doing what made them happy :)

Lanie's Dedication
Some time ago Lanie was dedicated at our church with a baby dedication. It was so wonderful to have both of her grandparents there to share it with us as well as many friends who were having their kids dedicated too :)
Easter .............rewind
So I know Easter was awhile ago ......alright it was a several weeks ago, but I never had the chance to get picutres up. This was Lanie's second Easter and it was so exciting to watch her actually do stuff this year. Lanie particpated in many parties, easter egg hunts, and family events. Even though it was neat to watch her contemplate the plastic eggs and begg for candy every second the thing I am most looking forward to is her really understanding what Easter is all about. I am head over heels in love with our childrens minsistry at our church and how the partner with parents to bring a child up in faith. Lanie has so many people who love her and I can't wait for her to grasp the love of Christ. On to some pictures of my little bug :)

Kristi's Wedding Weekend :)
This past weekend the Wade family went to Indianapolis for one of my best friends weddings. Kristi was one of my roommates all through out college and we made MANY MANY memories with each other. There is something about living with a group of girls in college that just brings your friendship to a whole new level. Kristi is one of those girls that just makes your heart smile and when she asked me to be in her wedding I was over joyed to share her special day with her and her new wonderful husband Jeff. Since I was in the wedding Mommy, Daddy, and Lanie packed up Friday afternoon and headed up north. It was Lanie's first time to stay in a hotel and she did great, couldn't have asked for a better one year old. Lanie got to meet lots of people including another one of Mommy's roommates Becca and her husband who is also a friend from college Manges (or Brent hahaha).
Saturday Lanie spent the whole day with Daddy because Mommy was off with the bride doing wedding stuff. Luckly Grandma and Grandpa Maxheimer are friends with Kristi too and came up for the wedding and to help out with Lanie Bug when needed. The wedding was so beautiful and Kristi was breath taking. Then we were off to the reception where luckly another bridesmaid took a picture of Lanie and I because I pretty much stopped taking pictures at a certain point and then realized that I didn't get any of Lanie and I or any of Mark and I. Lanie stayed strong till about 9:30 and then slept on Mommy for awhile so that Grandma and Grandpa could get some dancing in. Grandma and Grandpa took Lanie back to the hotel to sleep so Mommy and Daddy could dance the night away. We had such a good time and the band was soooo good. Our normal IU crew (missing a few people) were all there and boy do we love to dance crazy. I am pretty sure that I only left the dance floor a few times. Over all the weekend was a wonderful weekend and Lanie can handle about 3-4 hours in a car before she starts to melt so Florida in June will be interesting!!!!!

Visiting friends :)
I know I have been bad with Lanie's blog for ummm I think it’s been three weeks so I have missed three posts sorry for the four readers I have out there :) Lanie is just a ball of energy and that has made writing a post while she is awake near to impossible and then when we do get her down for the night I am so exhausted I am not far behind her.
Lanie has sprung 4 teeth!!! It only took 13 months, but she has 2 bottom and 2 top teeth poking through. She looks pretty cute with her teeth and I think she is proud of them because I get some pretty big smiles so she can show them off. I think having some actual teeth to chew/ tear her food has helped with her eating. She is still picky and likes weird food combinations (like fruit on top of everything), but she is doing much better.
Lanie loves to be outside so last week while I had off for spring break we were blessed with amazing weather and spent most of it outside do fun activities. Lanie had two zoo trips in one week. She went to the Zoo with her cousins, Grandma Amy, and Aunt Melissa and then we went to Louisville to visit our friends Katie & Chad and their son Landon. While we were there the boys went golfing and the gals and kiddos went to the Zoo. It was a really good time Lanie loved the giraffes and saw some lions performing reproduction (hahhaha). Our little bug is getting bigger every day; I can't wait for summer and all the fun adventures that will come our way!!!!!

Toddler EKKKK!
Whoops I missed last week sorry friend and family. Lanie has a lot in her little life that I have not shared on here yet so to name a few.
1) A couple weeks ago our adventurous little girl was running around and smacked her mouth on the foot board of our bed. Lanie busted open the top part of her gum. There was lots of crying, blood, and panic from a Mommy that should have reacted calmly. There is a calm parent and a stressed out parent and Mark seems to be taking on the role of the calm one which leave me with stressed! She is fine and the bleeding stopped with plenty of cuddles and paci/lovey.
2) Finally she has started cutting teeth....4 at one time! She is getting her top one it has busted through, the other top one is working its way out, and her two bottom are working there way out as well. I will get a picture as soon as she will let me, but she is pretty picky about showing her new teeth. I am just glad she has some because I think baby dentures would have been a pretty penny.
3) With the teeth cutting through it has also sprung a new Lanie. I knew she was a good baby and people were always saying that she was going to be a feisty toddler....well I think it has happened. Most of the time people think we are crazy because tend to do better in public, but at home she is a crazy child. There has been several full blown fits over putting a toy up, not being able to go up the stairs, taking the remote away, saying no to something that might harm her, you name it the girl gets mad. She has actually put her self on the floor and kicked her feet isn't she a little young for that?
4) Lastly, my awesome little eater has turned into a picky toddler. She eat cream of wheat like a champ for breakfast, and does alright at day care for lunch and snack, but dinner ohhh dinner is a different story. I think we are going on week two of trying just about anything for her to eat SOMETHING. It usually ends with her screaming crying, lots of options not eaten at the table, and me almost of the verge of tears. I am trying to relax, but it is hard to see your child not eat.
Overall she is still awesome, but Lanie is learning how to voice her independence and being a very head strong woman myself I have a feeling Mark is going to be laughing for many years to come watching the two of us. My nightly prayer has been for God to give me the patience to have with Lanie during her fits and dinner because it has been a battle ground lately. I know this is just a phase, but WOOOWEEE I hope it passes of gets better sooner than later :)
